Why visit Al-Attarine Madrasa
Al-Attarine Madrasa is one of the architectural highlights of the historic medina of Fez. Built by the Marinids between 1323 and 1325, it is celebrated for the extraordinary refinement of its courtyard decoration, including carved wood, sculpted stucco, Arabic calligraphy and traditional zellij tilework. Its compact design and intricate ornamentation make it one of the finest surviving examples of Marinid architecture in Fez.
