The experience
Designed for travellers who want a focused mountain challenge without losing the human side of the High Atlas, this route begins in Imlil, climbs through Amazigh mountain country to the Toubkal refuge, then makes an early summit attempt before descending. Ask-Morocco presents the route as a guided mountain journey with realistic pacing, acclimatisation time and weather-dependent flexibility.

Day by day
Day 1
Leave Marrakech for the High Atlas and Imlil. Meet the mountain team, continue through the upper valley and climb steadily toward the Toubkal refuge. The afternoon is deliberately paced for altitude adjustment and rest before summit day.
Day 2
Start before sunrise for the ascent of Jbel Toubkal. The route is weather- and season-dependent, and the guide controls pace and turnaround time. After the summit attempt, descend to the refuge for recovery.
Day 3
Walk back down through the High Atlas valley to Imlil, pause for a final mountain lunch or tea depending on timing, then return to Marrakech.
